Welcome to Didi's Daily Dabble
Watercolor Wednesday

Living in Georgia has us quite spoiled…we don't often get to feel the type of winters I remember from my childhood growing up in Nebraska.  New Year's Day we were actually comfortable in our shirt sleeves!  However just the week before my husband and I were surprised with a few VERY cold mornings so had to bundle up for our walks together.  We were so taken with the beautiful frost on the fallen leaves that we had to force ourselves to stop taking photos and get our exercise!

It just so happened that I discovered a YouTube demonstration a few days before that showcased how to paint frosty leaves in watercolor.  I was inspired but thought I would have to be looking for reference photos online.  What a treat to be gifted with some real life frost…it was meant to be!

I had a lot of fun working on this small watercolor painting and thought I would share a few pictures as I worked before showing off the finished piece.  I can see myself wanting to practice some more of these for sure.  Feel free to use my inspiration photos as a reference to create your own frosty leaves painting and please share with me and I'll add them to next week's email if you like!
I don't get a chance to use this white watercolor ink very often…but how magical!
The finished piece!
I'm offering the original watercolor painting for purchase exclusively to this group for just this week after which it will be listed on my website.  The painting is 5" x 5" and will be signed and come with a certificate of authenticity.  Contact me through email or over on Instagram for all the details.  Thanks so much!

Until tomorrow,
Didi
