Hey Muses!

My last newsletter was January 2021 and back then, I needed to take a step back to focus on my health. I didn't expect to take a year off, but that's what happened and it actually was okay. I'm good now. I'm back!

A few changes are outlined below, but for the most part, lots have stayed the same. This is now called  The Wellness Plug.  I'm using a new email marketing software, Mailchimp- bye ✌🏽. The Wellness Plug is a monthly newsletter providing you with wellness resources and information. It touches on some of the 7 dimensions of wellness every month.

I've added old clients and people I've interacted with in a wellness or fitness capacity to this list. Feel free to unsubscribe or forward it along to a friend. One museologie goal is to broaden the reach of this newsletter. Another, is to use LinkedIn more effectively. Both require consistency and patience, something I struggle with in all aspects of my life.

I want this to be an email that you truly look forward to reading each and every time it pops into your inbox.

Happy New Year and I Hope yall have a wonderful 2023. Thank you for coming back. Enjoy this first issue of The Wellness Plug😀

Wellness Corner
Occupational Wellness- Quiet Quitting wasn't my jam last year, yet it was everywhere. How about we focus on setting and respecting work boundaries?
Physical Wellness- The Lightning Challenge- a 28 day workout challenge starting Jan. 9 (TODAY) with 20 minute workouts. Created by Ariel Belgrave (She's Great.) This could work for you.
Mental Wellness- As we start the new year, if you've been thinking about therapy, try it out. There are many resources out there to help you connect with a therapist: Psychology Today, Good Therapy, Better Help, Therapy for Black Girls & Black Men Heal.
Digital Wellness- There are so many mental health IG pages and TikTok accounts. Should we really be taking mental health advice from social media

👩🏽‍🍳 Recipe: I've already made veggie gumbo and it was comforting, good and hearty. If you want this recipe, but don't have NYT Cooking, reply to this newsletter and I'll send it your way!
🎧 Podcast: Are yall listening to anything good? Last year I dabbled in Brené Brown's Dare to Lead podcast. Her conversation with Debbie Millman on design was unexpectedly great. These are my notes: What is it to feel like you’re enough? What is the relationship between our beliefs about readiness and our worth?
📚 Reading: Goodreads is one of my favorite sites. I've never reached my yearly book goal…ever(?!) But every year I make one with high hopes. This year is no different- I'd like to read 8. If you are on Goodreads, let's connect, I actually read reviews and check in. Currently reading The Conductors by Nicole Glover.
🎯 Goals: This is a goal tracker I found out about on Twitter. I haven't played around with it yet, but i'm intrigued. It's $9- cheaper than a planner or some of these apps.

Remember: Wellness includes physical, occupational, social, financial, mental/emotional, spiritual, digital and creative health. It's all about balance!
🏆
That's your wellness corner!

Have a happy and healthy January.
