from my heart to youRS:

After a crunch of year-end client work (Q4 is my busiest season), I logged way off, yoga retreated in Mexico, + planned to slowly ease into 2023…

but then…Lesbians Who Tech recommended my piece on "10 Signs Your Company is Too Late on Inclusion"… & a flurry of delicious tech client inquiries came in.

But: I'm still centering radical tenderness over burnout this year by:
Getting 10% cozier before I log on. BFF getaways. Sabbaticals from collabs + social media. Full-on vulnerability. Hiring a CPA. Daily “Queer Tarot”. Saying “no thank you” to biz meetings on Fridays. Braiding bread instead. Weekday bed yoga + cat snuggle naps. Poetry + firepit time in my SF garden. Dreamy music with no words. Acupuncture. Evening walks with the sweetheart. Plant propagating (+ oops) burying. Painting again!  m m m m m m m…

This year, I dream we all find more of what keeps us nourished, and less of what keeps us small.

“Stop trying to change hearts and minds.
Stop having “interesting discussions.” Companies need to take immediate ACTIONS to make the workplace significantly better for racial, gender, and other minoritized groups. You need consistent policies, clear trackable targets, and strong accountability.”

I illustrated this common microaggression (+ actual incident).

Tip: Make an extra effort to remember people's correct names, faces, pronunciations (+ pronouns, obvi). Not doing so rubs acid + salt in the compounded wound of similar previous experiences.
