It’s been so fun to see so many new faces participating in the #CreateWithCatCoq challenge! If you’re new here, the #CreateWithCatCoq challenge is a weekly drawing prompt that I send out in this email every Tuesday. Last week, the prompt was to draw your favorite animal in honor of my new Floral Animal Silhouettes class! 

I’m currently in Medellín, Colombia which is nestled in a valley in the Andes Mountains. I’m an avid hiker and love exploring the mountains wherever I travel! This week your challenge is to create an illustration inspired by the mountains.

This painting was inspired by my travels in Colorado. You can either draw this in your style or come up with a mountain illustration of your own. Then share your illustration on Instagram with the hashtag #CreateWithCatCoq so I can see what you make!

I’m so honored to have been featured in the 60x60 project with Bonnie Christine! This is an hour-long event where 60 successful artists, illustrators, and surface designers (including yours truly!) share how they make an income from their artwork. Check out the 60x60 video to hear my answer! 

 

My interview with Artists Soar is live! In the 40-minute interview, I dive into my journey from a graphic designer to a nomadic, licensed artist. You’ll hear what I wish I had known when I first started out, tips for overcoming fear and imposter syndrome, strategies for using POD sites even now that the market is oversaturated, and lots more! 

Fun fact: I met the podcast co-creator, Jules of @juliemstudios, during my art retreat in France in 2021. Jules and I clicked immediately and we stay in touch– I met up with her in Mexico last year and then again in Spain for my 2022 art retreat. It’s pretty cool to forge lasting friendships with other artists that span the continents!

In the past, I’ve exclusively offered my classes on Skillshare, but now I’m offering all of my classes both on Skillshare and for individual purchase on my website! 

 

What does that mean exactly?
 

It means that you don’t have to have a subscription to access my course content. You can purchase a course once and own it for life! You’ll have unlimited access to the course and can reference it as often as you need.
