I'm emerging from my burn-out / Holiday hibernation.

Hello world!

I am someone who breezes over their accomplishments without proper acknowledgement and celebration.

With this awareness, I'd like to take this opportunity to reflect on my accomplishments and favorite moments from 2022!

I both created pentaprism forms for 40+ Triangle Area artists to redesign, and displayed my own exhibit of 12 artworks - the majority of which sold!

Shortly after my gallery reception, I gave an impromptu artist talk to participants of Gail Belvett's Slow Art Tour. I attended the contemplation of my own artwork anonymously, then was revealed as the artist and invited to speak about my work! It was a truly magical evening.

The artwork which was being contemplated is shown below

Emily and Jack swung by for a studio visit and picked up Jack's custom commission. This piece represents his favorite natural elements from his cross-country travels!

Sarah is shown above checking out the arrangement of her custom installation in her backyard accessory dwelling unit. The pieces are held in place temporarily using tape - they were permanently adhered to the walls shortly after this photo was taken. (More on this incredible project to come!)

Here I am in October dropping off this piece to be apart of the local Durham Arts Guild juried show!

Last fall I taught several Folded Poetry workshops at both Duke and NC State Universities. How surreal it was to suddenly be a teacher! The image above taken after teaching first-year design students at NC State's College of Design.

This year I was asked to sell merchandise at the North Carolina Museum of Art's museum store in Raleigh! Here I am (above) at a Meet the Makers event at the museum which took place over Thanksgiving weekend!

I rounded out 2022 by selling Folded Poetry DIY kits online! This was a great success! I plan to create more kits for sale in the future!

My goals for this new year?

1) Slow down
2) Do one thing at a time until its complete
3) Take good care of myself

Wishing you the all best for your new year!
