Policy Writing 101 Workshop
Come learn the basics of policy writing and how to develop your ideas into published, peer-reviewed policy memos-- no experience required! The last half of this workshop will include a group brainstorming session in preparation for the Journal of Science Policy and Governanceโ€™s summer deadline. Join us Tuesday Feb 7th, 5-6PM at CHS 17-323!

  • Mentoring high school capstone projects (Odyssey STEM Academy): 
    In the second installment of our partnership with UCLA Science Project, several mentor positions are open for guiding high school seniors at Odyssey STEM Academy as they work on their ๐Ÿ“š senior capstone project ๐Ÿ“š. We will be sharing more details at our general meeting next Tuesday Jan 31st 5:30PM @ Engineering V Rm 2101!

  • NIH Office of Science Policy Summer Internship. The OSP Summer Internship Program provides an opportunity for students to gain tangible science policy experience in support of the NIH mission. Interns will work side-by-side with leading policy experts to learn strategies for advancing national science and technology policy and obtain practical experience in policy analyses and development. OSP will be hosting interns for an 8-12 week period beginning in late May/early June and lasting through August 2023.

  • John A. Knauss Marine Policy 2024 Fellowship. The fellowship provides a one-year, paid experience for highly qualified early career professionals to work on issues related to coastal, marine and Great Lakes science and policy in offices within the executive or legislative branch of government in Washington, D.C. Graduate students interested in marine, coastal, and Great Lakes science and policy should explore the information about the fellowship as soon as possible and talk to their local Sea Grant program (or the National Sea Grant Office) at least one month prior to the February 16, 2023 deadline (aka ASAP!)

  • Science Policy Fellowship Opportunity with the National Academies. The Gulf Research Program's Science Policy Fellowships prepare scientists, engineers, and health professionals to work at the nexus of oil system safety, environmental protection, and human health in the Gulf region. Fellows receive valuable experience at the science-policy interface through a one-year work experience on the staff of a state legislature; state environmental, natural resource, oil and gas, or public health agency; or regional offices of relevant federal agencies.

  • Health Policy Research Scholars Program. Health Policy Research Scholars is a national leadership program for doctoral students in any academic discipline who are starting their second year of study and want to apply their research to help build healthier and more equitable communities.
