With a lot of logistics including testing, spring break, and two in-person showcases we are going to pre-record interviews this year. Students have the option to record their own interview (they should choose an adult or peer to ask the questions and answer them on camera) or they can schedule an interview with the NHD in NV Coordinator (Christine Hull).
This way students are still able to speak to their project, share their passion about the topics, and give important information to the judges but it can be done on their own schedule. This setup honors the students hard work but also allows flexibility for everyone.
There is a space for a weblink in the registration materials if students record their own interviews they will provide a link to their video in that space. If they interview with Christine, we will add the link to the video.
YES! There will be special awards this year…they will be added to the registration page by February 1st so please check back for students to self nominate. They will also be added to our website as we get the information from our partners.
We are heading back to Washington DC for this years National Contest! Students in the Junior Division (6th to 8th grades) and Senior Division (9th to 12th grades) who place 1st and 2nd in the State Contest are invited to attend the National Contest.
The 2023 National Contest will be held June 11-15, 2023 at the University of Maryland, College Park.
