Hello friends. Thank you for being here with me we find January coming to an end. I'm sharing some reflections about that today, along with:
A seasonal playlist and journal prompts A guided meditation to help you to unfurl and connect with the first whispers of Spring An oracle card pull Upcoming offerings Transitioning from Winter to SpringI’ve feel like I've been in bit of a loop for a while now where I’m playing catch up as the seasons shift and change. I talked about this over on Instagram in the Autumn. I felt incredibly resistant to the shift from the ‘doing’ energy of summer to the more introspective energy of Autumn and Winter. Now I find myself not quite feeling ready for forward momentum as we transition out of Winter. I've reflected on this more over on the blog.If you're feeling similar in energy and you're not quite ready for this shift into a new season you're not alone. Remember that it is still winter. We are called to think about emerging. In this post about connecting with the cycles of nature, I talked about looking to nature as our guide. When we have a sense of the natural balance between yang and yin, outward and inward, active and passive, we flow more easily as we move through the seasons. The oracle card I pulled for today's newsletter really reinforces this message. It tells us “when we resist our cyclic nature, we resist life and feel stuck”. I'll be taking some time to reflect on what I'm resisting and where that resistance comes from. A marker on our cyclical journey of emergence is Imbolc. Imbolc is one of the eight ‘sabbats’ or ritual celebrations in Celtic spirituality and contemporary paganism. Imbolc is celebrated on the 01st February. It's a time of awakening where we can gather around fires in community to celebrate the return of the sun. Imbolc also honours the goddess Brigid. You can read more about Imbolc on the blog.Keep reading for my Imbolc playlist and journal prompts and a guided meditation to help you to unfurl and connect with the first whispers of Spring. |

Oracle Card Pull

Oracle cards are a beautiful tool for self reflection. I like to draw cards and then consider their meaning in relation to what's happening in my life at any given time. Sometimes they're a source of comfort, sometimes they really get me thinking, and occasionally the card I pull doesn't resonate which is always a beautiful lesson in taking what you need and leaving what you don't. Today's card is from the The Work Your Light Oracle by Rebecca Campbell. I asked “what does the collective need to hear” before I pulled the card. Here's the card's message: What in your life is no longer in alignment with who you truly are? We are cyclic beings, in a constant state of change, of evolution, of growth. Change is one of the only certainties of life. When you resist your cyclic nature, you resist life and feel stuck. Many of us have learned to be who the world wants us to be. But there comes a time when it is harder to hold onto this façade than it is to embrace who we truly are. To surrender to how we have changed and align life to that way of being. If you pulled this card, you are being called to let go of who you once were or the things that you once defined yourself by – the job, the relationship, and the mask you wore, and to embrace who you truly are now. To courageously step into the person that you came here to be in full authenticity. To embrace your weirdness and your uniqueness. Perhaps you have outgrown some relationships or circumstances, and it is time to reassess and bring all the parts of your life into alignment so that they are congruent with who you truly are today. Does this resonate with you? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

My Imbolc playlist is full of beautiful music that connects with the energy of the season. Fire, rebirth, calling back the sun, the divine feminine and emerging from Winter. It also calls us to accept where we are now, in this moment.
You can use it to reflect and journal, as part of meditation practice, as a background for a movement-based practice, or as a tool to accompany breathwork.
Here are some prompts that you might like to reflect on as part of your practice:
How do I feel about the ideas of rebirth, transformation, and change? What do I need to cleanse or clear out at this time? How can I bring fire into my life, to celebrate the return of the sun? As I walk through the world, what emerging signs of Spring can I notice? |
