Hey First name / producer,

In my last email, we talked about leveraging different types of capital in the music industry. Here's a real life example of that:

On our business development roster here at Dark label, we have a young producer that has built and monetized a 'mixing tips' Instagram account with 100k+ followers, and sells digital products.

This has gifted him with [Attention capital] and some [Financial Capital]. However, his primary goal is to grow his career as a producer and get some credentials in the industry. He lacks [Experience capital] and [Reputation Capital].

Also on our roster, is a Grammy nominated, multi-platinum veteran who has a lot of [Experience Capital] and [Reputation Capital] but does not have much [Attention Capital].

He wants to create an additional income stream [Financial capital] that is more consistent, but doesn't take up a lot of time [Time Capital]. This way he doesn't only have to rely on label checks and royalties.

You may already be able to see where I'm going with this…

So, we facilitate a deal between them where 'Instagram Producer' has opportunities to work on bigger projects for credits [Reputation] + [Experience Capital] which he can leverage into [Social Capital] (or clout as the kids say).
This could lead to more production fees in the future [Financial Capital].

In exchange, that ‘Veteran’ has access to easy [Attention Capital] for a digital product partnership that earns him some reliable cash [Financial Capital] to keep inflow between label projects, but doesn't take much time away from making songs [Time Capital].

I'll continue to keep you posted on how this project goes as we move along, but what you're seeing here is: Leverage at work.

Knowing how to leverage your resources and compound one deal or song or moment into the next is what creates momentum, and this can be the difference between a stable and unstable career over a long period of time.

That's why we exist: To help you navigate all of the 'other stuff' in the background so you can focus on the music.

If you can verify that you're already a working producer/songwriter (or music pro) in the business then reply to this email and let's chat for 10 minutes.

Produce prosperously,
Dan
