#CreateWithCatCoq - Porcelain Florals

The floral designs in Floral Animal Silhouettes are inspired by artwork I saw in a porcelain museum in France. Museums are great places to get creatively recharged and find reference photos.

Most of the artwork in the museum I visited was hundreds of years old, and the upside of using very old imagery for reference is that you can avoid potential copyright issues. Plus, it’s a fun way to tie in an art history reference to your updated modern work!

Your #CreateWithCatCoq challenge this week is to create a floral pattern like one you might find on old porcelain or chintz fabric. I include a TON of tips for how to find reference photos for this kind of thing (even without visiting a museum!) in Floral Animal Silhouettes

Share your florals on Instagram with the hashtag #CreateWithCatCoq and tag me so I can like, comment, and share your work.

I can’t wait to hear what you think of the class! Don’t forget to share your class project on Skillshare so I can see what you create!
