LEGISLATION UPDATE Important Holiday Pay Update You may remember we recently updated you on the Harpur Trust v Brazel Government legislation which focuses on employees under continuing contracts who work only part of a given year - such as term-time workers, casual workers, zero-hours workers, or seasonal workers. The Government issued a consultation paper to address the problems stemming from the Supreme Court's judgment last year in Harpur Trust v Brazel. As a result of Harpur Trust, part-year workers are entitled to a more significant holiday entitlement than part-time workers who perform an equal total number of hours across the year. The Government is addressing this discrepancy to guarantee that holiday pay and entitlement received by all workers is fair and proportionate to the time they spend working.
