FEBRUARY NEWSLETTER

YEAR IN REVIEW

WE'RE GROWING!
In 2022, we toured over 1,300 people
at Jack’s Solar Garden, including over 300 high school students.

Guest highlights at Jack's Solar Garden for 2022 included Deputy Assistant Secretary to the Department of Energy, the Executive Director of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Colorado State Senator Cleave Simpson, assistants to the Prime Minister of Estonia, and energy specialists from Saudi Arabia.

We hosted our first ever research webinar in December, with presenters from Jack's Solar Garden, National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Colorado State University, and the University of Arizona. The webinar drew an audience of 170+ people from around the world.
Thank you to all who participated!

We'd like to give a special thanks to Jordan Macknick, Christopher Toy, Matt Sturchio, Greg Barron-Gafford, Alyssa Salazar, and Nesrine Rouini for presenting their results from the 2021 season.

NEW TEAM MEMBER

ALEXANDRA HANKINS

We recently hired Alexandra Hankins as part of the CALC team. She will be spearheading our fundraising and events planning.

Alexandra has a background in design, marketing and events, with an art degree from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in San Francisco. Having lived and taught overseas, she is able to bring a unique perspective to CALC. Her passion for volunteer work began in the Amazon rainforest during a jungle conservation volunteer trip, and more recently evolved into finishing a year of service with AmeriCorps for a nonprofit working to alleviate food insecurity. Alexandra hopes to use her diverse experiences and communication expertise to build bridges between people while also helping to create a more sustainable future.

Welcome to the team, Alexandra!
