Hi friends,

It's time to do your first monthly review of the year, I plan to do it before this weekend. I already set my goals for the month and did a quick monthly planning by writing upcoming appointments and events on February's calendar. If you don't have a monthly calendar, try downloading mine, the download link is the pink one below.

I thought of something fun to share with you today; my digital life report. However, last week's results were abnormal because I went Live on Instagram once and used my phone way more than usual to share about my workshop. I decided to share a glimpse of the report anyway, so here are my statistics according to my favorite social media management app Appblock:
  1. I spent 20% more on my phone than the week before, daily average 5 Hours 14min, compared to 4 Hours 33 minutes in the previous week.
  2. My top three apps were Instagram, Whatsapp, and Netflix.
This week I will be mindful about using my phone by setting some rules.
  • 20 minutes of Netflix phone app.
  • 1 hour on Instagram daily as a max (especially on posting days, content creators will get this).
  • No whatsapp plans as I think I got it well under control.

What about you? Are you mindful of your digital life? Do you have some rules about when to use your phone and how often?

Share with me your rules, I would love to know some of them and perhaps I will share them to inspire my social media friends.

Here is your weekly dose of The Sunday Spark ⚡️ a newsletter listing 5 inspiring things I thought were worth starting your week with:

1. 🌕 Happy Full Moon day, friends. Here is a fun and recently-published geological map of the Moon's surface. It was featured as Wikipedia picture of the day. Speaking of the Moon, @SomabyRaz, my sister's fantastic creative business, releases a new piece every full Moon. Check out her brand new website and order your unique wearable piece of art today.

2. 😕 What do you say when you want to cancel a meeting because of another, more urgent one? Pick your words mindfully.

3. 🤯18 ideas to upgrade your thinking. I don't particularly agree with how all the ideas were stated, but I like most of them. My favorite is #9.

4. 🎧 I am proud to be the first guest in Sima Najjar's brand-new podcast. Listen to part 2 of our conversation about how to set goals; it was so much fun. I'm proud of you Sima for this achievement. Here is Part 1 if you missed it.

5. 💬 Be strategic about what you leave undone:

“A realist believes that what is done or left undone in the short run determines the long run.” In other words, if you want to succeed in the long run, you must learn to be consistent day in and day out, week in and week out, year in and year out.”
― John C. Maxwell, The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth

Some cool resources I personally use, love and recommend, with discounts just for you:

  1. I like to start the day with my personalized Momentum Plus tab, which helps me stay focused with a powerful mantra, an inspiring image, a to-do list, countdowns to big dates, and world clocks where I keep an eye on time zones of friends and family living abroad before contacting them. Being a newsletter friend, you would get a special offer of a 10% discount when you subscribe to Momentum Plus with the promo code: bardees.
  2. Enjoy a free month of the Readwise app, it is the BEST way to retain the knowledge you gain through reading. Using spaced repetition, it helps you remember your highlights from kindle books/articles you read. I am in love with their new reader feature. Reading online has become a top-notch experience thanks to Reader. Get one month free using my link.
  3. I have been using @ExistApp for years as a digital journaling tool to track my mood in relation to my productivity and health choices. Try it out.
