“Let go of certainty. The opposite isn't uncertainty. It's openness, curiosity and a willingness to embrace paradox, rather than choose up sides. The ultimate challenge is to accept ourselves exactly as we are, but never stop trying to learn and grow.”
-Tony Schwartz
Staying healthy and strong is at the top of all of our lists.I started weight training 2 years ago and it’s made a huge difference in how I feel. I asked my trainer, Zach Pello to share a tip to keep you focused or help you get started.
Next-Level House Sitting
We are on vacation this week, and I’ve learned to make the most out of being out of our house. Here’s the list I schedule to have done while we are away:
Schedule your carpets, rugs, and sofas to be cleaned
Have the house deep cleaned
Get your knives sharpened. I have Cutco.
Drop your comforter off at the dry cleaner
Schedule an Instacart delivery for the day you return
Book I'm listening to
If you want to be moved to see a part of the world that is too easy to ignore, I just finished listening to Jimmy Wayne’s book, Walk to Beautiful. It’s his inspiring story of growing up in the foster care system to becoming a country music star. The audiobook was a great listen on my commute, cleaning around the house, and hanging out at my girls’ practices.
🎙 On the pod
Sometimes when you’re in the middle of it. In the middle of the hard. In the middle of the journey. It’s difficult to see forward with perfect clarity.
My guest this week, Joy Currey, is a mom of 2 busy kids, wife in a two-career home, homeschools her kids (what?!), and the Co-Founder and Executive Director of an equine therapy center in North Carolina, Corral Riding Academy that has extended to two locations.
Her husband, Rob, went to Princeton with the hubs - so that’s the connection. I still think their wedding is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever experienced. She has impeccable taste. It was incredible. I digress.
I hope you’ll listen in to Joy’s journeyinto the messy part of growing something big. Having big talents, big dreams and figuring out the right balance of time for your family is not an easy tightrope to walk.
Joy’s working through it - and if you do anything for long enough, I promise you’ll come to this crossroad in your life too.
My advice? Trust your gut.
