I am back and recentered after a few weeks of travel to Montreat and APCE. I saw many of you in Birmingham, and got to meet a lot of new, wonderful people. 

 

Talking with everyone renewed my calling to this ministry of supporting you through resources I created. It is such an honor to be able to use my gifts to support you and the church in this way. Thank you for making it possible.

 

Recently, I was asked to speak to a group about the origins and significance of Lent, and I decided to turn that into something I hope will be useful for you.

 

Lent Lead Up is a great way to share information about observing a holy Lent in bite sized pieces through 16 images that can be used on social media.

 

Eleven of the images contain helpful tidbits and insights into the season, and five of the images are questions for engagement on social.

 

Also included is a handout that can be printed as a bulletin insert or to simply have available for the curious.

This Monday, February 13, I'll be leading a workshop through the Second Breath Center on Self-Compassion. 

 

Most of us know the commandment: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

 

Jesus is undoubtedly teaching his followers to love others well. But there’s a hidden nugget in there that’s easy to miss: Jesus is also saying you need to love yourself well in order to love others well.

 

Self compassion isn’t a luxury – it’s a necessity for living and loving well. And it ripples out for the benefit of you and those around you.
