New Year, New You??
If you’re like me, you set some goals for yourself this year. We are 41 days into our new year, how are you doing on your list? Checking in with yourself on your goals and resolutions on a weekly or monthly basis should be in your calendar if you truly want to bring life to the vision you have for yourself.

Getting in better shape? Finances? Read more books? Travel more? Career change? New job? Professional growth? Spiritual growth? A large purchase? Investing? Starting a business? Yoga? A new skill? Clean eating?

Becoming the best version of yourself is not easy, as we are all our own worst enemy & our toughest critic. But you know what else isn’t easy? Knowing you’re not living up to your full potential or not meeting the goals you’ve set for yourself. “I wish I would have” is a phrase that can hold such disappointment and regret for what our past selves were not willing to see through. Don’t you think you owe it to your future self?

The best schools of thought on goal setting and achievement say you should set your sights on no more than three main focuses if you really want to see results. More than three inevitably is too much noise, and will muddy the waters of your improvement journey. Here's an article from Forbes on setting and achieving your goals.

I worked on a couple of my goals last week:
Professional development & National Parks travel.
I spent time with 3,000 of my elite residential real estate peers from all over the United States at the Tom Ferry Elite Retreat in Las Vegas. We all come from a wide array of brokerages across the board, from boutique to worldwide companies… But all have one thing in common: a desire to grow professionally and personally and provide the highest level of expertise and service to our clients. I am able to connect you with an incredible agent in every single state in America. If you're thinking about relocating or buying an additional property in another market, let me know and I'll make an introduction to the right agent who will know the right people in your target location. See my latest IG post below for a video of the experience!

After two and half days of nonstop growth and networking with the best in the biz, I took a side trip to Death Valley National Park in California before heading back to Houston. From left to right: Zabriskie Point, Badwater Salt Flats in the Badwater Basin (282ft below sea level), Artist's Palette Drive. Death Valley was shockingly beautiful and seemed to have it all. I highly recommend you put it on your travel list! I'm happy to share the route I took and where I stayed if you'd like to plan your own trip.

And why no pics from the conference?? I'm sure this will come as no surprise to you, but I was much too busy listening to the presenters and talking to everyone during our breaks! Oops - next time!

… Speaking of heading out of California:

The numbers are in.
Florida and Texas have experienced the largest migration of new residents - home to low taxes and warm weather, followed by North Carolina and South Carolina.

Florida saw an influx of 318,855 people, while Texas saw 230,961 new residents. And it's not just for the weather and the taxes...

"Everybody knows about the low taxes and great weather in these areas, but something else that makes these areas popular is the robust job market recovery after the pandemic," said NAR Director of Real Estate Research, Nadia Evangelou. "Not only were their economies able to recover all the jobs that were lost, but there are 5% more jobs now than there were in 2020."

What does this mean for Houston? It means continued growth. We are both lucky and unlucky enough to live in the third largest city in America, rich with major industry diversification and an intonational flare. People and businesses will continue to make the move to call Houston home, which also means that the dirt and real estate here will continue to increase in value year-over-year for the foreseeable future.

Reminders:
1) The largest picnic in Texas is tomorrow @ Memorial Park!!

2) Happy Super Bowl Weekend!

2) Valentine's Day is next week! Tuesday, 2/14.

3) Fat Tuesday & Ash Wednesday are coming up!(Feb 21st and 22nd)

If upsizing, downsizing, relocating, or buying for the first time is on your goal list for this year…

Hit reply & let's strategize.
