LADIES - Is your cycle imbalanced?
Hi First name / there

First, if you didn’t read last week’s blog post about the difference between a balanced and imbalanced cycle, definitely read (click here) through that as you’ll get an overall idea of your cycle and if you need to work on it.

Next, let’s talk about solutions!

Using Ayurvedic techniques, we focus on individualized solutions to healing your cycle based on your dosha - or Ayurvedic constitution. There are three doshas (Vata, Pitta, Kapha), and you can be strictly one or a mix of two-three. We work with our clients to figure out their dosha so we can provide them with the best individualized solutions to heal their mind, body, and spirit.

Take this client, for example:

She is predominantly Pitta/Vata, and her imbalances - painful and irregular cycles - mirrored that. Her solutions included creating a nutritional, herbal and lifestyle plan specifically designed to balance her doshas. She also learned self-massage (abhyanga) techniques to help calm her nervous system, chromotherapy and aromatherapy to help balance her mind and mindfulness practices suited to her lifestyle that helped shift her relationship with stress. Within 2-3 months, her hormonal imbalances and menstrual irregularities began to subside, and she began to feel like herself again without synthetic hormonal support or OTC meds!

Finally, here are some general solutions to help you start balancing your cycle based on your dosha:

🌬️Air-types (Vata dosha) ~ Eat warming & nourishing meals & drink spiced herbal teas. Slow down, engage in mindfulness & self-oil massages. Stay hydrated & participate in low-impact movements like yin yoga.

🔥Fire-types (Pitta dosha) ~ Avoid hot, spicy & acidic foods & incorporate fennel, cilantro, & mint. Decrease intense activity & stress. Spend time in meditation & reflection by the water or on nature walks.

🌱Earth-types (Kapha dosha) ~ Add warming spices to your meals like ginger, cinnamon, pepper, & cardamom. Engage in stimulating exercise, especially before menstruation. Increase circulation & digestive fire with dry brushing massage.
