Houston!
Are you ready to Rodeo??
Love it or hate it - the Houston Rodeo kicks off with the very first event of the season this weekend.

This Sunday is Round Up Best Bites, and will mark my 10th year pouring wine for the event. RUBB is put on by the Wine Events Committee and is an absolute blast! With over 110+ of Houston’s best restaurants and all the winning wines (and more) being served, it’s one of the best events of the year. It shouldn't come as a surprise that the event is completely sold out, but if you’d like tickets or a table for next year let me know and I can connect you with the sales team. However, what’s not sold out is our cases for this year. If you’d like a quote on price and availability, I can also direct you to our wine sales team.

Don't worry, there are more pre-rodeo events!

Aside from RUBB, most Houstonians consider the cookoff to be the true kickoff to rodeo.“More than 250 barbecue teams will compete in the World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest, scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 23 – Saturday, Feb. 25. Over the course of three days, teams from across the state of Texas and the world will compete for champion titles in the following categories: Brisket, Ribs, Chicken, Go Texan and Dutch Oven Dessert, as well as the Open Contest, where teams may enter their dish of choice, except desserts.”

One of my favorite long standing Houston Rodeo traditions is the Trail Rides. “10 different trail rides make their way through the city streets to merge and camp one final night at Memorial Park before participating in the Downtown Rodeo Parade, Saturday, Feb. 25. This continues a 70-year-old tradition that keeps Western heritage alive in the nation’s third largest city.”

Also on on the line up is the Houston Rodeo Run and the big parade downtown! Read the all the details for the rest of the pre-rodeo events here.
And of course, one of the main
attractions… The concert lineup!

Want to make it to a show this year? You can grab tickets on the HLSR website, or on third party websites. I’m really looking forward to Lauren Daigle, The Chainsmokers, Turnpike, and Chris Stapleton. Shop tickets here!

A reminder that the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is one of the largest nonprofits in Houston, or maybe even in Texas. Since the first year in 1932, they’ve given over $575 million dollars in scholarships to kids in Texas. Along with preserving and promoting Texas’ rich farming, ranching, and agricultural heritage - the more you learn about HLSR’s mission, the more you’ll want to support.
You'll find me at rodeo supporting the kids this season, but I'm still here to help you upgrade, downsize, or relocate.
