Hi Everyone -
Well, the bitter cold of winter arrived in NH in early February. On Friday and Saturday this week it was -35 degrees with the wind chill. Yes, my pipes froze even though my faucets were dripping. Thankfully my son in law, who’s a builder, was “on it” and the water came back on in a half our. Whew! Sunday it was 50 degrees - what a difference a day makes!!!!
In January I and a team of 4 went to the Sports Licensing and Tailgate Show in Las Vegas. It’s a show where many, many licensees show their product/merchandise for the upcoming season and where retailers and buyers come to place orders. I hadn’t been since the Pandemic so I was excited to see my colleagues. And, oh what fun we had!!!
OHT was ALL over the show and the Opening Night Party at Top Golf-the view of Vegas at night was just spectacular!!!!! The first 1,500 in the door at the Show received a Logo Brands/OHT backpack - a great one that all attendees loved. Colosseum shirts were in the backpacks - again everyone loved them. OHT had a booth that had sooo much traffic this year and we scheduled a ridiculous 30+ meetings with our licensees, retailers and potential new business partners and others in 2 ½ days. CRAZY!!!! Talk about exhausted!!!!!
BUT, let me tell you about how I reconnected with Jeff Hamilton jackets after 30 years. A blast from the past and so much fun. 30 years ago I went to a Salem Sportswear fundraiser where there was an auction. One of the items was a SWEET reversible leather to satin Celtics Jeff Hamilton jacket. If you know me at all, you know I’m a diehard Celtics fan and a huge sports fan in general so of course I had to bid on this jacket from the King of leather jackets. Google Jeff Hamilton to see how he started with jackets for Michael Jordan and built an empire of athletes and musicians. His career is HOT again right now.
Well, I won the bid in that auction and I have carefully and meticulously taken care of my jacket. It’s in pristine condition and worth a LOT I’m told.
Fast forward to the January Tailgate Show in Vegas and lo and behold there was a Jeff Hamilton booth. Would he himself be there? You bet - he came in the next day. I, of course, found the most beautiful hot pink, matched my hair, wool NBA logo-ed jacket. Oh my… I was in Heaven. Thirty years later would I get a 2nd JH jacket??
You bet I would! I bought that jacket, modeled it throughout the rest of the Show and was stopped wherever I went. Like I told Jeff, “You needed a more mature (“old”) woman modeling this jacket and who better than me?” Lol!
Just another one of my many adventures. OHT hopes to collaborate with Jeff Hamilton and his famous jackets sometime in the near future. Wouldn’t that be fun after 30 years of getting to know his brand!!
I’ll have another story for you next month - an OHT impact story. I have SOOO many of them to tell you so stay tuned. You won’t want to miss any!!!!!
Stay well and safe and laugh as much as you can.
Warm regards
Dot
