If you’ve been scrolling Instagram at all the last couple of weeks, you’ve likely come across the term “hygge.”

Because I love my email list and I love helping you look smart in front of your friends, I thought I’d give you the scoop on all things hygge and how I practice this in my own home!

Hygge (pronounced: hoo-gah) is a Danish concept they attribute to making them the happiest people on earth (studies have actually backed this!) To practice hygge is to intentionally infuse your homes with life’s simple pleasures and go the extra mile to make your home feel cozy. It’s turning everyday things into beautiful experiences.

This concept was brought to life in the dead of winter (Denmark can experience darkness 17 hours a day!!) but it’s totally possible to bring a little hygge into your home this spring, too!

Here are a few ways I’m incorporating hygge into my home this spring:
-Fresh flowers (I get mine from Bloomers)
-Relax on my porch with homemade lemonade
-Crack the windows and enjoy the fresh air
-Hang some twinkle lights (they’re not just for Christmas!)
-Bake blueberry muffins
-Plant a flower garden
