We are bursting with fresh vision, new ventures and expectant 
hearts for all that He wants to do for His precious daughters.
 
 
But in every action, word and decision, we know that 
it is God who commissions and equips us.

In fact, in seeking God for the year ahead, we felt 
strongly that our vision and verse for the year is this:
 
 
"You did not choose me, but I CHOSE YOU and appointed you so that 
you might go and BEAR FRUIT—fruit that will last—and so that 
whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.” - John 15:16
 
 
This ties in beautifully with the idea that God highlighted for us:
 
"We cannot manufacture the Presence of God... 
We can only create the atmosphere for Him to move in." 
 
This is our heart's cry as we navigate 2023 & reach out to the hurting.

NEW BEGINNINGS 
 
A precious lady who’s been in our Restoration Programme for 2 years is ready to take her first brave steps to independent living. Her determination to change her life for the better has been incredible to witness, as she went through our full therapeutic programme (including detox, in-depth counselling, prayer ministry, life and career coaching). Speaking from the heart she said, “You have been a part of this journey from the beginning when I was at 
my worst. You saw me as a shadow of myself and believed in me from Day 1. I want to thank you for walking this road with me; you were instrumental in getting me to where I am.”  She is now standing on her own and moving into her own place month-end. 
 
Please pray for her as she ventures out into the new and wonderful purposes God has planned for her.
BIRTH OF JOY
 
A beautiful baby girl was born to a lady in our programme in December…  And with her arrival came heaps of love and joy! What an honour it’s been to be a part of her road from desperation to hope, death to life, as she discovers God’s purposes for her and her family. “I want to thank you for everything you have done for me and my children. I'm so grateful and every time I look at my baby, I just wonder how I would have done it without you. I have no words to describe how thankful I am. If it wasn't for you 
and the Cherished team I don't think I would be holding my baby in my arms as I am right now. To think that I wanted to abort such a beautiful soul.” She’s currently upskilling herself with a full hair, wig-making and hair-extensions course through Image Hair & Beauty Institute, while attending in-depth counselling and prayer ministry. We are so excited for the beautiful future that lies ahead of her.
AN ANSWER TO PRAYER
 
A woman in our care has finally received her long-awaited visa & work permit! We are so grateful to God for making a way for her. She has worked extremely hard to create a new life for her & her 4 children, diligently working through counselling sessions, while persevering through the demands of studies, practicals & family life. Last year she completed her 6-month Health Practitioner Course & has been waiting on her visa to apply for jobs. 
 
Please pray for God to open the way for her to get a position that 
will both fulfil her & help her to support her precious family.

We certainly felt God doing a “new thing” as we stepped out into the 
harvest field this year. Our outreaches across Gauteng have been 
inspired by His gentle prompting and fuelled by His presence.
 
CHERISHED JHB NORTH
 
The JHB Team felt challenged to find a lady in each venue who could lead prayer & devotions. Incredibly, someone in each venue volunteered whole-heartedly to do so! In praying for the team, Sam had a powerful picture: “The words ‘Walls coming down’ kept leaping in my heart. If the walls come down from the inside it is not an invasion; it’s a breakthrough. I see the light of Jesus bursting through the dark walls from the inside. How beautiful.” The team’s second outreach built on the first, as they handed out Bibles to many who had asked for them & gave out a devotion about the woman Jesus met at the well. 
CHERISHED EAST RAND
 
The East Rand Team also experienced such amazing breakthrough. They were given access into venues where the doors have always been closed. At another venue where the team is never allowed in, all the ladies were outside when they arrived and they were able to meet them personally & connect for the first time. The team felt Jesus say, "I did not die on the cross for you to pray small prayers." This was so evident as the team went forward with faith & expectation.  
CHERISHED MIDDELBURG
 
The Middelburg team would not let the adverse weather hold them back from outreach. When God has a plan, nothing can stop Him! They reached out to 27 ladies with 2 ladies very eager to come to church. Many ladies were open to prayer and a number of them sent prayer requests after the outreach. God also led them to a new venue and opened the door for them to build relationship and sow seeds of hope and love. 
 
“There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order 
of things has passed away. He who was seated on the throne said, 
‘See, I am making everything new!’” - Revelation 21:4-5

As we reach out to the hurting, the broken, the lost and the lonely, we hold 
on to the hope of God's promise to make all things new for all eternity.
