Hey First name / friend!

Can you believe it’s April already? We’ve been so busy helping clients plan their amazing trips that we haven’t had time to do any traveling of our own. That changes soon! In April, I head to Denver for an industry conference where we expect to learn even more valuable information.

We also plan to go to Memphis, Tennessee, for a family vacation to see the pandas at the Memphis Zoo. For Christmas, we are going on a friends and family cruise, and you are welcome to join us! Here is the link with more information.. We also plan to take several weekend trips that haven’t been planned yet.

Where are you planning to travel this year? Whether you go somewhere exotic or traditional, I hope all your travel dreams come true (and I can help with that!)

Destination Overview

Belize may be tiny (in fact, it’s about the size of New Jersey), but it’s huge when it comes to culture, beauty, food, and things to do.

Belize is a small, English-speaking country between Mexico and Guatemala. It is home to the second largest barrier reef in the world, second only to the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. The Belize Barrier Reef Reserve System is one of several protected areas.

Are you looking for something to do? Trust me, they have something for just about everyone. You will find amazing natural locations to explore, diving opportunities, festivals, fresh and local food, and even Mayan ruins! Belize is especially known for its stunning natural beauty that includes the previously mentioned beaches, coral reefs, and lush rainforests.

Belize has stunning and diverse cultural experiences. Its rich indigenous cultural heritage includes Maya, Creole, Garifuna, and Metizo traditions. You can learn about the country’s history and culture by visiting its many museums, historic sites, and cultural festivals.

Many visit Belize because it’s rich with adventure including snorkeling, diving, kayaking, zip-lining, and cave exploration. Whether you're an adrenaline junkie or just looking for some outdoor fun, there's something for everyone in Belize.

Between the different excursions and adventures, you should take in some of Belize’s delicious cuisine, which is a blend of Caribbean, Latin American, and Mayan flavor profiles. You can enjoy everything from fresh seafood, tropical fruits, and spicy dishes that delight your taste buds.

Finally, you will be made to feel welcome by the people there. They are so incredibly warm and friendly; in fact, they are known for their warm hospitality. You’ll feel right at home while on vacation in this country that is filled with natural beauty, adventure, and tantalizing food.

When To Visit

Deciding when to visit has as much to do with what you’re most interested in doing as much as it does your existing schedule. Generally, the high season for tourism in Belize runs from November to April, when the weather is dry and sunny. This is a great time for activities such as snorkeling and diving, as the water is clear and calm.
However, the shoulder seasons of May and June or September and October can also be a great time to visit, as the weather is still pleasant but there are fewer crowds and lower prices on accommodations and activities.
The low season for tourism in Belize is from July to August when the weather is hot and humid, and there can be occasional rain showers. However, this can still be a good time to visit for budget-conscious travelers, and it's a great time to spot wildlife in the rainforest.

What To Do

As I’ve already said, Belize has plenty of amazing things to see and do. Here are three activities I recommend you don’t miss:

  • Unwind at a luxury jungle lodge, your home base for exploring the surrounding untouched wild of Belize
  • Climb through caves, take in the Mayan temples, or hike through the jungle if you’re feeling adventurous
  • While seaside, you can snorkel the reef, go fishing for your dinner, or simply laze in a hammock

Travel Tip of the Month

We are already starting the fourth month of the new year! If you haven’t already, take a few moments to review your passport. No one wants your international travel plans interrupted by problems with your passport.

Here are three things to look for:
  1. Is your passport valid for six months or more past your upcoming travel dates?
  2. Do you have at least two blank pages?
  3. Are any of your pages torn, bent, or damaged in any way?
If you answered no to the first two questions or yes to the last one, you need to get your passport replaced or renewed right away. This is not something you want to hold off doing until the last minute in case you experience delays.
