Welcome to a new month! This month's theme is Self- Discovery. Our weekly themes are:

This week, let's focus on the theme of self-awareness. Self-awareness is about understanding your inner landscape. It is the foundation of personal growth and transformation. By becoming more self-aware, we can uncover our true selves, identify our strengths and weaknesses, and gain insight into our values and beliefs. Self-awareness helps us tune out the noise, and place a flash light on our inner world.

Self-awareness is the art of seeing,
Deep within, beyond mere being,
To grasp the thoughts, emotions, and actions,
And perceive one's strengths and limitations.
With clarity and mindfulness, we can see, Our biases, beliefs, and attitudes that be, And identify areas for growth and change,

To transform and evolve, and not remain the same.
It is a vital part of emotional intelligence, The key to self-management and effective communication,

Interesting Research:
In this piece, the author describes a recent large-scale investigation that shed light on some of the biggest roadblocks, myths, and truths about what self-awareness really is — and what it takes to cultivate it.
👉My key takeaway: Internal awareness AND external awareness are equally important parts of self-awareness. Introspection is not necessarily self-awareness; mulling on the question of “why” is far less effective (and leads to generally untrue conclusions) as to reflecting on “what”.
Micro Tasks:
  • When you experience a strong negative emotion, rather than immediately reacting, take a breath and 1) name the emotion that you are feeling and 2) feel where it is in your body
  • Journal your intentions in the morning and journal a list of wins of the day before bed
  • Explain that you are doing an exercise with your coach, and ask your co-workers, friends and family what they see as your strength and weaknesses.
