Dear First name / friend, On the 6th of February, we woke up to devastating news here in Turkey. It was a very intense month with many complicated feelings. I honestly didn’t feel like sending a newsletter, so I skipped it. There was a lot I wanted to say, but I couldn't find the right words to convey it, that could define what's in my heart. In these times, spending time with my child and working were the best things to do. The energies of babies and children are always healing. Now is the time to recover and see what is ahead of us while holding space for those who have been closely affected by the earthquake. I therefore want to share with you what we, as members of the Hand to Hand for Births Association, have been doing to support pregnant and postpartum mothers who have been affected. Our president formed a support group. We are trying to reach mothers there (try to be heard so that they can reach us) so that we can help them with their needs. Sometimes all they need is to be heard and supported; other times they need to be led to a hospital or doctor, depending on what they need. We, as volunteers, have also been offered support by many national and international healers, psychologists, and birth workers to be able to keep ourselves grounded, positive, and not traumatized. It means a lot to feel supported by people around the world. Please spread the word about our efforts and information if you have any connections to the affected cities so that we can reach more people. |

Compassionate Birth Practices for a Peaceful World This month is APPPAH’s (The Association for Pre & Perinatal Psychology and Health) Birth Psychology Month. There are very good webinars every week. It is not only for birth professionals but also for parents. Well, in my opinion, it is for everyone because we were all born and were in the womb.I highly recommend you to register. The first speaker was Anna Verwaa. She discussed her personal insights and experiences. It was quite moving. Next month, I'll talk more about the summit and, ideally, publish a blog post about it. |
