Encouraging creatives to fly solo
and solopreneurs to keep going

I’m writing this e-mail on a Monday that had a rough start. I woke up to a couple of messages cancelling a project I was so excited about for early April. When you work by yourself on your first year in business each contract is a big reason to celebrate and this type of news can be a punch in the stomach.

But when you have already been doing this for a while there’s a resilience that is built after so many punches that they don’t hurt as bad anymore. Actually, depending on the day we even learn how to make a delicious caipirinha out of the lemons that are thrown at us.

The important thing is to have a strategy to deal with the emotional downers we get from each bump, and my strategy for today’s canceled project was to just go to the gym and listed to a random new podcast episode about entrepreneurship (which is today’s Spotify recco).

And it actually helped a lot. So I put together some of the insights that helped me manage the emotions of this hard core Monday:
+ Most people don’t have the guts to change careers because they think: What if I fail? For sure you will at some point. But instead of worrying about failing, worry about how you will handle the failure

+ Hard work is a work that you’re doing that you don’t like to do

+ When you compare your business to other businesses on instagram you’re basically comparing the backend mess of yours with the front shiny window of others

+ When I’m close to giving up on something I ask myself: what will I regret when I’m on my death bed? And I know I won’t regret failing, but I for sure will forget not trying, or not trying hard enough.

I hope these insights find its ways to comfort you in case you’re also having one of those days.

make the leap

About a year ago I dropped my 10 year international career in the luxury beauty industry to work as a full-time photographer - solo.
It was a well planned, well-structured and organized process, but it wasn’t mistakes-proof. The mistakes came, I learnt from them and I fixed what I could have done better or different.

And now I want to teach this to everyone who once said to me ‘I wish I had the guts to do the same’

And no, I don’t want to teach you how to be a photographer or how to be a successful entrepreneur (yet, at least). For now I truly only feel capable of teaching you to properly plan to do the same and manage the toughest part of a career change: the fear of failing and the financial anxiety.
For now all I can say is that I put together a 3 parts course that can be completed in a week and covers:

Mindset, Finances and Planning

It is the methodology I put together for myself with my own experience with business management and goal setting combined with everything I wish I knew before I jumped into this crazy and delightful journey that makes me the happiest I’ve ever been. Anxious at times, surely, but truly happy, grateful and proud.

And What Else?
+ The course has a big value at a small price so it is accessible to everyone who is taking serious the idea of a career change

+ It will be launched in both languages (English and Portuguese) on March 20th and it will have a promotional price on the first week.

+ Additionally, all of you who are signed up to The Renegade Collective will also get a little surprise when you purchase the product. But this will only be announced on the go live date.

__ If you know anyone who is going through. Career change process share the link of the button bellow so they can also sign up to The Renegade and get the updates first hand.
