Let's break down the energetic opportunities at hand and what to be mindful of on our daily journeys…
The Full Moon in Virgo opposes the Sun in Pisces.
This is the midway point of the lunar cycle that started with the New Moon in Pisces two weeks ago – a cycle and season focused on more profound creativity, spirituality, intuition, and compassion. Aquarius season called on us to revolutionize and disrupt patterns, and Pisces season has allowed us to observe and realize our dreams.
Pisces is great, but in its shadow, its energy is very avoidant. As this Virgo Full Moon cuts in, it snaps us out of any dreamy delusions we've been living in. Virgo is here to remind us that realizing our dreams is about telling ourselves the truth about ourselves, seeing the truth in the world around us, and discerning the best courses of action.
As Virgo and Pisces oppose each other, we're reminded that to succeed at anything, we have to flow without humanity AND our divinity, both rooted in truth as our identity. As astrologer Pam Younghans stated perfectly, "This Virgo-Pisces polarity asks us to find a healthy life balance between the practical and the sacred, the logical and the intuitive, cautious skepticism and living by faith. It requires that we see both the forest AND the individual trees."
Ask yourself:
- In what areas of my life am I being avoidant?
- Am I seeing all aspects of my life and connections in the truth of what they are, or am I telling myself other stories? Why?
- How can I apply what I've learned in 2023 so far to push forward on the life I dream about for myself? What small, practical actions can I take now?
As a reminder, the planets are moving and interacting within the cosmos, but none are retrograde. All planets are direct. With the start of the new astrological year approaching with the New Moon in Aries on March 21, this entire month's energy is one of a train with no breaks that's just getting faster. This is an energetic train that we won't be able to get off of for some time, so choose wisely regarding your decisions, behaviors, thoughts, and actions – it'll be tough to reroute down the line.
Also, if you have yet to review the previous year in detail, extracted the lessons and blessings, and crafted your intentions for the new energetic year ahead, this is prime time to do so. Grab a journal or, better yet, a copy of the Claim of Abundance workbook, and let this Pisces-Virgo energy create the perfect canvas for a deeply spiritual and practical experience.
What it means for us: The Full Moon opposes Mercury, Neptune, and the Sun in Pisces, squares Mars, and trines Uranus.
That's a mouthful, but an important one at that. Let's start with the Moon opposing Mercury and Neptune and squaring Mars. This is the Full Moon in Virgo against the planet of communication and the planet of spirituality, and in tense aspect to the planet of action and war.
For us, this means that even though the Virgo Full Moon emphasizes seeing the truth, communicating or accepting the truth could be difficult right now. Actually, Mars and Neptune have been squaring off since September, with the last of three conjunctions happening on March 14, so this is energy we've been dealing with for a while that's all serendipitously coming to a head now right before the new astrological year. Ask yourself: e This could be why.
Because Virgo is all about accuracy and detail, its energy comes along to allow us to heal any deluded disconnections, but we have to be willing to do the work. So many of us hide behind rose-colored glasses, seeing what we want to see about something or someone versus the facts. This isn't just unfortunate; energetically, it completely derails us from our aligned path.
Allow yourself to be reminded to tell yourself the truth about your discomforts and pain points. Perhaps you're the cause of them. Sometimes we wonder why we're locked in a cage, but we're too focused on our delusions about the outside world that we don't take the time to look within, completely disregarding that we've had the key all along.
Similarly, the Full Moon is in harmonious aspect to Uranus, the planet of abrupt awakening – more see-the-truth energy, but maybe in a harsher way. Like getting a tight pinch on the arm, don't get stuck on the pinch, building delusions based on anger and discomfort. Instead, see what it's calling your attention to. Whatever it is, it's the truth that you need to see and accept.
Tap into Virgo's energy of practicality and organization when it comes to finding solutions. Focus on the positive outcomes while doing the work and showing up as the most gracious, conscious version of yourself. You CAN and WILL succeed in moving through any and all lessons presented to you now if you surrender to the fact that they're necessary, even if they're uncomfortable.
Remember: Don't just GO through it, GROW through it. It's happening FOR you, not TO you. Future you is looking back at present you with adoration and support. Tap into your highest self whenever you're poised to make a tough decision. You've truly got this.
What it means for us: Saturn has officially moved into Pisces!
This is one of the most significant astrological events of 2023 and of our life if we consider the opportunities its energy will offer us to change our lives forever.
Saturn, the planet of structure, stability, responsibility, and karma, has been in Aquarius, the sign of innovation and revolution, since 2020. Saturn is the strict teacher, and Aquarius is the rebel with a cause which is concerned with making things better for everyone. Saturn has officially moved out of Aquarius and into Pisces, closing a 2.5-year cycle of self-mastery through personal revolution.
To understand how this affected you for the past 2.5 years, check your birth chart for what astrological house Saturn is stationed in. (There's a breakdown of how to do this if you scroll down on this newsletter and even deeper insight on all of this in our latest class, Flowing with the Cosmos.)
To reiterate what I shared in the last Cosmic Insights because it's crucial that we understand the impact of this energy on our entire lives…Saturn in Aquarius squeezed us in (quite literally, if we're considering the pandemic, global politics, and natural disasters) and gave us the collective opportunity to deal with the recurring patterns that harm us globally. On a personal level, Saturn in Aquarius allowed us to heal through constriction, too, to learn every angle of the area of our lives Saturn affects directly, and teach us how to choose love over fear so that we can truly thrive.
Welcome Saturn in Pisces! We've just entered a critical season giving us opportunities for self-mastery through spiritual discipline, creativity, and deepening and embodying our intuitive power. Saturn is in Pisces until May 2025, so look at what astrological house Saturn occupies in your birth chart and consider what spiritual discipline and creativity would look like in that realm of your life. Consider how you can use the lessons you learned in the last 2.5 years to find balance, align with disciplined flow, make your dreams a reality, and release delusions along the way.
This is all affirmed by it all happening an hour apart from the Virgo Full Moon, which, like Saturn, is all about hard work, discipline, and making sure things go from start to finish. As we journey alongside Saturn in Pisces, it'll be important to remember this as best stated by astrologer Divine Harmony:
"We have the planet of contraction and reality in this sign of spiritual expansion, mystical awareness and intuitive capacity. Pisces is deeply creative, inspired, compassionate and psychic. At best, Saturn can provide a container for these gifts and help ground them. The shadow can be Saturn's shutting down/limiting creativity, inspiration, compassion and intuition. Saturn rules fear and Pisces is the collective unconscious. All manner of fears are up for us to face! And yet Saturn also rules the ability to stick with something and see it through. During this time we can not only face deep fears but also transmute the poisons of the past into the cure for our future trajectory."
