Hey First name / producer,

Read this message from a working producer and then I'll break it down…

Here are the take-a-ways that stand out…

~ He has only been producing music for 6 years.

~ He doesn't let what he isn't good at hold him back (he's resourceful).

~ He started his freelance business just 48 months ago and is doing $15k months + landed a mgmt deal (at around year 3)

~ He now has a network of serious people that take him seriously.

Adam has been in the Dark Label ecosystem since Day 1 of starting his business (the screenshot above is from our client group). We've had an inside look into his entire career… The tough times and the great times.

I could literally write a book on this client, but today I want to share something with you that played a huge role in his success so far…

There has never been one day, hour, or minute where Adam was “casual” about his career growth.

Now, I'm not here to shame anybody for how they want to grow their career. Your career is yours (not mine).

I'm just here to share what's working for those who want to know. What you do with this info is up to you.

I've noticed recently that a lot of producers I speak with are being wayyyy too casual about their career... Just sort of floating along without clarity, trying bits here and there, and going with the (turbulent) flow.

I know that sometimes it may seem like success in this business happens for people on accident.

It usually does not

“If it isn't in your plan then it probably isn't going to happen.”

Adam always stuck to the plan that we gave him and everything he did was done with intention and purpose…

There wasn't any guessing or spending an entire month trying to fix a business problem that could be solved in one day.

This is why Adam has reached the milestones of a 15 year production career in just 48 months.

Some producers are even spending years trying to fix a problem like: How to get clients consistently. Years? That is being wayyy too casual about this.

Back in 2019, Adam was making low wages working in a kitchen. So no… He didn't come from money either. He had to scrounge up that all he could to get the help he needed. Again, his career has never been something he treated casually.

Was it a perfect journey with no obstacles? Absolutely not.

Does he care? No… Because today he lives the life he's always wanted.

Key point:

Adam was willing to get really damn uncomfortable in order to make this happen for himself. He even said so in his post above. I have a lot of respect for him because of this. Game recognizes game :)

To the producers who want to build a career and stay comfortable at the same time… Adam is one of the producers eating your lunch. (I say that as kindly as I can lol)

He understands that discomfort is actually less risky than comfort is and here's why…

Discomfort can be “undone”.

You can always go to back to being comfortable.

Regret cannot be “undone”. It's irreparable.

Adam is actually less risk averse than most producers when you break it down that way.

This is how I personally operate too, and it's the mental operating system that we install into the producers we represent and/or develop.

If you need the same plan that Adam deployed to go from blue collar to signed producer doing $15k/mo in a few short years then click here and I'll point you in the right direction.

And if reaching out for help feels “uncomfortable” for you to do then re-read the last section of this email.

Thanks for being a part of the Producer Files!

Produce prosperously,
Dan

PS - Early next week I'll be sending you a video on how Adam (and most producers) get clients. Keep an eye out for that.
