Citrine sewing inspo as you head into the weekend…

Hello, friends!

Tis the season for warm knit layers, and Citrine is the perfect cozy cardigan to wear over all of the things!

Since the Citrine launch almost a year ago, I've been posting all of the Citrine cardigans and variations/mods that I've made to my blog. One of my favorite things to do is play around with a pattern to create variations, so I included notes and tutorials when applicable to make it easy to make one of your own. I love that these “extras” add even more value to the pattern when you buy it. You can always find these posts via the Citrine page, but I'm rounding them up in this email so you have them all in one spot!

Here are a few ideas for mixing it up with the Citrine pattern that you might like to try…

One of the easiest ways to give Citrine an entirely different vibe is to add length. Can you spot the other mod I made to this one? Details are all in my post!

For this one, I added even more length and then added some easy patch pockets using my Super Patch Pocket Trick tutorial.

I love the more subtle “puff” on this navy Citrine sleeve - the result of cutting between the view a and b sleeve cutting lines. It's so easy - check out the tutorial!

This barely qualifies as a “mod” but it's worth mentioning that it's easy to combine the views on this pattern! In this version, I used the view b sleeve with the view a front and back pieces.

You can mod the pattern, or…mod the fabric! I pieced together strips of knit fabric from past projects to create this colorful Citrine. I love that I didn't have to buy any new yardage for this one! See more pics and notes on how I pieced it together in the post.

And of course, making Citrine without mods is always a great option - take a look at these lovely cardigans in this roundup of Citrines from our preview testers for even more Citrine sewing inspo!

Inspired to make your own version of Citrine? You can find the pattern in digital format in my shop - it comes in 14 sizes, A-N (max chest 66") and includes layered A0 copyshop and print at home files. Plus, find ALL of my Citrine posts, size and yardage charts, and more over on the Citrine Page.

Finally…I'm teaching an evening Citrine Workshop at my studio in downtown Ann Arbor later this month, and there are still a few spots open - can you join us? Get all of the details and sign up HERE. I'd love to have you join us!!

Happy sewing,
- Rae
