Hi friends,
Three years ago, I hired a coach for 10 months who, in our bi-weekly meetings, turned on the lights for me whenever I felt stuck and needed a new set of lenses to see differently.
I have also had a success partner for five years, which is the new cool name I am using to call my accountability partner, who has been listening to me every week as I share the progress of my goals and notices where I am holding myself back, while I do the same for her.
I have circles of close friends and family members with whom I share my life updates and who, in turn, celebrate my successes.
Yes, I am lucky to share my life and get support in different ways.
Nonetheless, my oldest and most available life coach and companion remains journaling, my constant change catalyst for as long as I can remember.
✏️Journaling has always captured my happiness and misery.
✏️Writing my grief and anger down helped me process them better.
✏️Writing my “stormy” first drafts helped me have better conversations with those I love.
Journaling always offered space between me and the voice in my head that I thought was me. I only understood my inner critic when I let it speak on paper. Thanks to journaling, I could be the observer of my thoughts instead of being overcome by them as I see them locked into the pages.
✏️Writing my affirmations helped me believe I can liberate myself from past beliefs that no longer serve me. As a matter of fact, I could not remember my affirmations when I needed them until I started repeating them in writing them every morning.
✏️Journaling enabled me to tap into my inner wisdom, which has been there since the day I was born, but it was too noisy inside to hear.
✏️Journaling will always serve you. Even when you hire a life coach, you still go back to journaling when your coach asks you to contemplate your experiences and see what newfound awareness you come across.
✏️When you set new goals, you still need journaling to reflect on your past and envision your most cherished future. Having a consistent journaling habit will make reflection second nature for you.
✏️ Journaling is the foundation for a creative, self-aware, and deliberate life, and I believe this with all my heart.
As you may know by reading this newsletter or listening to my podcast for a while, journaling has been a habit of mine since my teenage years, and people always asked me how to journal; therefore, I worked hard to develop training material to help you adopt it as a habit you too can learn.
Join me in the upcoming Journaling Workshop on Sunday March 19th at 8:30 PM Amman Time to learn all about journaling and receive its numerous benefits in your life.
Let me guide you and support you from my own experience and the many books I read about it as you take your first steps. And If you are a seasoned journaler, let me share with you some new and FUN methods you can try and experiment.
During our 2 hours together on Zoom (replay available after), I’ll teach you ten types of journaling and show you how to start this habit immediately. I will also provide you with a PDF of more than 50 journaling prompts to support you in facing a blank page. The content and training will be in Arabic.
