Hey, First name / friends!
First of all, I want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who shared their feedback in the survey I sent out last week! Your answers were so insightful, and I’ll be taking them all into consideration as I create future content and offerings!

And congratulations to the six winners!! The winners will all be contacted via email.

Recolor An Existing Illustration
Now let’s talk color! It’s no secret that I’m more than a little color obsessed. 😅 But aside from the fact that playing with different color palettes is just plain fun, it’s also a strategic move for art licensing and print on demand.

I almost always create multiple different colorways for each of my illustrations. Your potential customers have different tastes and styles so more color options = more sales opportunities!

For example, I originally created this illustration in ink, scanned it into my computer to create color alterations, and one of the new color palettes I whipped up was chosen as part of a home decor collection with Modcloth!

Bonus tip: I’ve started to notice certain color palettes in my portfolio are more popular and generate a lot of sales. So I started to incorporate those color palettes into all of my illustrations for an extra sales boost without a ton of effort!

Your #CreateWithCatCoq challenge this week is to create a color alteration on an existing piece of artwork. And as my gift to you, I’m sharing my favorite collection of 50 color palettes for free! These are in jpg and Procreate swatch format so they’re compatible with whatever drawing tool you prefer! Plus, they’re royalty-free and for commercial use so you can use these in professional projects. 💛

Share your recolored artwork on Instagram with the hashtag #CreateWithCatCoq so I can see what color magic you come up with!

I know color alterations can feel a little daunting if you’ve never done this before, but I promise that once you get the hang of it, it’s a quick and fun process! Plus I have resources to help you every step of the way! 👇
