Be part of our team, regeneratively managing over 200,000 acres in western Colorado and Utah! This position is based on several irrigated properties, managing over 2,500 hd of cattle using Holistic Planned Grazing methods. POSITION: Grazier / Ranch Hand, Western States Ranches

Salary $36,000 + DOE

QUALIFICATIONS
Two years livestock handling experience
Understanding of, and desire to implement, Holistic Management principles (grazing planning and management, decision-making, etc.)
Current driver’s license
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Able to regularly lift 50 lbs.
Able to work long days outdoors in adverse weather conditions (snow, rain, sun, wind, etc.)
RESPONSIBILITIES
Grazing and Forage Management o Participate in the creation and implementation of the Ranch’s grazing plans on multiple properties o Utilize electric fencing to optimize animal and land performance o Feed livestock as needed to achieve production goals o Repair infrastructure as needed • Irrigation o Plan the application of irrigation on multiple properties, in conjunction with grazing management o Implement the irrigation plan daily, maximizing the efficiency of irrigation water • Livestock Management o Maintaining strong herd health by identifying sickness issues and treating animals o Implementing the Ranch’s herd health program (e.g., mineral, supplementation, vaccinations) o Participate in livestock working events (e.g., branding, weaning, pregnancy checking, sorting, etc.)
