Today I want to talk a little bit about sharing your photos. So you've taken your photos, selected your favs, and maybe ran them through some editing software to make them pop.
Great! Now, how are you feeling about sharing your photos? As I mentioned from the beginning, this can be a whole experiment and you might decide to keep your photos for your eyes only.
However, if you're planning to use your photos for your business; on your website or social media, you may experience the very real feelings that come from BEING SEEN.
There you are, in all your gorgeous beauty, expressing yourself freely, and then…a troll comes knocking at your door. Projecting their words of insecurity, judgement, and shame all over you and your photos.
Now, I'm not saying this will happen to you. From my personal experience, it's happened MANY times.
Co-workers telling me I'll never get hired by another company, friends wondering wtf was happening to me, family members talking behind my back about how inappropriate my photos were, being told I need to go to the gym, I'm putting “the wrong message” out there, and attracting predators. You name it. I've heard it. You know how I get past it?
First, I give myself love and grace. Regulate my nervous system. Remind myself that this is not my perspective. Then, I go back to my intention. Circle back to day 1. WHY are you doing this in the first place? What did you learn from this whole experience?
Haters are gonna hate. It's how we deal with it that matters.
