Hi friends! Rooted Compassion is Ohio’s leading practice for therapy, training, and consultation through the lens of the nervous system and the Polyvagal Theory.
Our nervous system is the foundation of our emotional well-being, even more so than our thoughts, behaviors, emotions and brains.
for the next training in our Social Justice and Equity Training Series:
Deconstructing Stigma for Gender Diverse Clients
with Caitlin Yilmazer,MA, LPCC-S
This training will teach participants about challenging and deconstructing societal induced stigma and how to apply this in clinical work with gender diverse populations. With these tools, participants will then learn how to apply interventions to gender affirming therapy. The facilitator will conduct training by lecture with activities and discussions to promote experiential learning.
Look for more on this training in our next training newsletter, and on our social media!
Rooted Compassion is excited to offer this incredible opportunity to help those struggling with trauma, anxiety, stress, depression, PTSD, ADHD. If you are looking for a tool to help you reset your nervous system, the Safe and Sound Protocol may be it.
We are now offering at-home listening! Listen at home, at your own pace, in your own space. A trained facilitator will monitor your progress the whole way and make changes as necessary!
The SSP uses an auditory system (specially designed playlists) as a portal to the vagus nerve complex, which controls our physiological state. Once the physiological state is regulated, we can accelerate and enhance subsequent therapy.
You will have a trained facilitator with you every step of the way! As you move through the listening program, your facilitator will monitor your reactions and ensure to stop the listening if any negative reactions start. We move through the program slowly to allow your nervous system to lead.
We offer a free 15-minute phone consultation so you can ask questions and see if this may be the right fit for you! Schedule your call today while visiting our site.
We've partnered with Hello Mental Health to provide a support group for caregivers and their children at the Ronald McDonald House in Cincinnati!

Mimi’s practice is grounded in the neurobiological mind-body connection. Mimi specializes in eating disorder recovery. She recognizes that the body not only raises alarms in reacting to life stressors (past events/present challenges/future worries), the body also plays an important part in the healing process. Using an integrated, strengths-based approach, Mimi has worked with individuals experiencing difficulties with life transitions and interpersonal relationships, anxiety, depression, and eating disorders. With compassion and curiosity, Mimi will invite you into a creative, safe space, journeying alongside you as you reconnect with your own capacity for change and personal growth.
