APRIL MINI CHALLENGE
SNAIL MAIL LETTERING

One of my most favorite ways of using and sharing brush lettering in the real world is to decorate envelopes and create mail! April is National Card and Lettering Writing Month and the inspiration for this mini challenge!

TUTORIALS + RESOURCES
SCHEDULE
April Week 1 (first full week) | Get organized and plan. Think about who you want to send mail to and how you want to use your lettering. Sketch out some ideas, practice lettering names and addresses.
April Week 2| Create your first piece of mail.
April Week 3 | Create your second piece of mail.
April Week 4 |  Create your third piece of mail.
If you finish early/can fit more in your schedule--go for it!

SHARING YOUR WORK
There are so many fun ways to style and photograph your mail (and hopefully some of the photos above and in the posts give you some ideas!)

Important reminder: if you are sharing photos on social media, make sure your recipient's full address is NOT visible! Consider taking a photo before filling out the entire address, covering it, blurring it, or digitally removing it. You can also address envelopes to famous TV characters and use their fake addresses.

If you participate in this month's challenge, don't forget to tag me so I can see it @atiliay and use the hashtag #betterlettersin15 #bli15mini.

I've found that creating pieces of mail is like creating a small piece of art! It's a great way to use your imagination and has helped me get out of creative ruts. But most importantly, it's a beautiful way to connect with friends and family and even strangers! I hope you enjoy diving into this month's mini challenge.

Happy National Card & Letter Writing Month and happy snail mailing! :)

Take care and talk to you next month,
