California's 2022 Grape Crush Report Revealed!

The United States Department of Agriculture recently released the latest grape crush report from California and while the total is slightly down from the previous year, it’s still an impressive number coming in at 3,650,143 tons. It turns out that red wine varieties were the most popular, accounting for the largest share of all grapes crushed.

But that’s not all—let’s talk price! The 2022 average price for all grape varieties was $921.10, which is up by almost 7% from 2021. The prices for different types of grapes were also interesting with red wine grapes seeing the biggest increase, going up by 9%. San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara County ("Region 8”) reds are averaging close to $2,000/ton.
