Dear First name / friend

In two weeks, I will attend a 2½ day workshop with two of my long-time teachers - Christina Sell and Desiree Rumbaugh - in Bellingham, WA. To top it off, I will be attending with a long-time friend, Jen Newman. To say I'm excited is an understatement !!!   (Scroll down to see some photos from years past.)

I've been working hard to ‘get in shape’ – practicing each day; kicking up my physical output (attending mat Pilates each week and at least one public yoga class); and - not just for this event - I've been losing some weight.  All good things!

Self-compassion will be high on my list of things to remember and focus on during the workshop - many will be younger, more flexible and have practiced longer. My ego can get in the way in such a situation. I just need to remember that I have ‘skills’; they may be different from others, but ‘skills’, nevertheless.

My schedule remains the same:

Mondays & Thursdays, 10:30am, Aligned Yoga
     Tuesdays, 9am, Therapeutic Yoga
     Fridays, 9am, Yoga Basics

These classes are held at the Sage Yoga Studios in Fallbrook and Bonsall. Check the website for more information.

And, I am available for individual Yoga Therapy sessions and/or Yoga Training at my office in the afternoons, and - after April 15 - on Saturdays.

on my end table:
I must admit my reading of yoga-related books has suffered over the past month. I am re-reading a few, and have purchased several new ones. Have yet to crack those open, however.

As to fiction, I am also doing a bit of re-reading – I started a book titled ‘Surviving Savannah’, thinking it was a new one. After the first chapter, I realized it is a re-read. I am going to finish it, tho – it's a good one.

for SOME light (yet educational) reading:
  1. From Scripps Newsletter - To Pickleball or Not
  2. In case you were wondering, the Mayo Clinic spells out the benefits of yoga here.
  3. Did you ever wonder why we do ‘bird dog pose’? Here's an answer.
  4. From the same newsletter as #3 - do you remember your yoga teacher saying ‘put on your beginner mind’?   (BTW, I highly encourage subscribing to this free newsletter; lots of good information sent on a regular basis - yet, not too often.)
  5. And, my recent blog post is available for reading.

Until next time,
Leslie
