It was so fun to see all your floral mandalas last week! I can tell that you all love mandalas as much as I do 🤗. Here are just a few of the submissions for last week’s #CreateWithCatCoq challenge!

This week’s challenge is inspired by my new wallpaper collection with RoomMates decor! Almost all of my designs from this collection were watercolor illustrations that I turned into repeating patterns. 

 

For example, I painted this jaguar years ago, but with a few clicks in Photoshop, I was able to turn it into a repeat pattern for this wallpaper collection!

 

Your challenge this week is to create a repeat pattern from something hand-drawn! It can be an existing illustration that you’ve already digitized, or something brand new! Share your pattern on Instagram with the hashtag #CreateWithCatCoq so I can like and comment! I love seeing what you create!

 

Now, I know you might be thinking “That sounds nice, Cat, but isn’t that a little complicated??” 

 

If you’ve never made a hand-drawn seamless pattern, I promise it’s not as hard as it sounds! If you have a piece of artwork, a phone, and Photoshop, that’s all you need to turn your hand-drawn illustrations into repeat patterns!
