BEAVER BITES

  • Back in 2022, we travelled to Ontario to embark on the Canadian Canoe Route (see video at the top of the newsletter), which included the fabulous Canadian Canoe Museum. With their new stunning building opening in 2023, this is the year to visit! Plus, we're not the only ones who love it. Former CFL player (and heir to the world’s largest label company) Stu Lang gave the museum in Peterborough a donation of  $1.78 million.

  • Had we known there might be ways to “game" Tim Horton's Roll Up the Rim, we may have paid more attention in stats class. Meet the Ontario stats prof who claims he can’t stop beating Roll Up To Win.

  • Here's a list of the top “tourist traps” in the world. As for Canada, it looks like Niagara Falls tops the list.

  • Many of us love travelling across the ocean, but if you want to turn that into a career, perhaps now's the time to consider joining the Navy. For the first time ever, the Canadian Navy is offering the chance to try it out for one year with ‘no strings attached’.

  • While places like Paris have voted to ban e-scooters, other cities, such as Saskatoon, are ready to launch them into the market this year.

  • While the general public won't be flying to the moon anytime soon, one Canadian will be lucky enough to do so. Jeremy Hansen, a former Royal Canadian Air Force pilot, will join NASA to loop around Earth, rocket around the Moon, and head back over ten days. It’s the first time a Canadian will go beyond Earth’s orbit.

  • We're hoping that more countries will soon realize that measuring the happiness of citizens is better than measuring GDP. Perhaps we can start by comparing ourselves to Finland, which is once again the happiest country on Earth. They're even offering a Masterclass of Happiness.
