Since mid-March, I have traveled to Kingston a handful of times for our weekly meetings of the Constitutional Reform Committee of Jamaica. I ordinarily begin my mornings here at Emancipation Park, pictured above, with a jog on the track that surrounds this historic site. The Park was built to commemorate the abolition of slavery in the French and Commonwealth Caribbean. The landmarks in the Park are a reminder of the many miles the people of Jamaica have marched toward freedom--and the journey that remains ahead to create a homegrown constitution for a new Republic of Jamaica.

A Visitor from Egypt via Australia and the US
Last month, I welcomed Mohamed Arafa to the University of Texas at Austin. A law professor at Alexandria University in Egypt, he is also a visiting scholar at Cornell University and Monash University. I met Mohamed over ten years ago when we co-organized the 2nd Annual YCC Global Conference for early-career scholars. It was good to have him here in Austin. Here we are, pictured below, at the summit of historic Mount Bonnell.
