Dear First name / friend,

“You cannot defeat what you cannot define."
~Craig Groeshel, Winning the War in Your Mind

How many times do we push aside or avoid our feelings in order to do what needs to be done in life? There are so many demands, so many responsibilities. Yet, pushing away the feelings doesn't mean they don't exist. They will spill out at some point. So, take a quiet moment to dig deep. What are you feeling? What lies might you be believing? If you don't name them, you can't tame them. Here are few of the lies we believe:
  • I'm not enough.
  • I have to be perfect.
  • I don't have time for feelings.
  • What I say doesn't matter.
  • I have to be strong, always.
  • I have to serve others to be seen as valuable.
  • I can't be like everyone else; I have to be unique.
  • I have to remain logical.
  • I have to remain positive, always.
  • I have to prepare for every worst case scenario.

Encouragement
Today, allow yourself a quiet moment without shame. Feel all of the feelings. Name them, and name any lies attached to those feelings. “Remember, a lie believed as truth will affect your life as if it were true.” (Craig Groeschel, Winning the War in Your Mind) Give those lies to God, and allow the Holy Spirit to help you replace it with truth. Together, we will win the war in our mind.
