Hi friends,

Thank you so much for reaching out and for your kind and warm replies to my last Sunday Spark. Thank you for sharing your stories with me; I will keep them in my heart forever.

Enjoy your break this week with your loved ones and the amazing weather ahead; that's what I will do.

Love,
Bardees

Here is your weekly dose of The Sunday Spark ⚡️ a newsletter listing 5 insightful things I thought were worth starting your week with:

1. 📺 A light-hearted Egyptian TV series I finished recently and recommend (Not Ramadan 2023 edition) is Family Matter, available on Shahid. Thanks Mum for telling me about it.

2. 🎧 A podcast episode to listen to: Cyndie Spiegel talks to Jonathan Fields about Microjoys: Finding Hope (Especially) When Life Is Not Okay, her newly released book reflecting on her life after several losses she went through in a short time. I have been sharing daily reads from Cyndie's previous book with my WhatsApp contacts since the beginning of the year.

3. 💪 I read most of his books, participated in all his challenges, and bought all his courses; I am talking about the amazing writer and speaker Jon Acuff, who is running a FREE 3-day challenge starting April 18th called Beyond Perfection. Join his challenge to watch live or watch the limitedly available replays. Don't miss his teachings; I am sure I won't.

4. 📚 Another riddle for you: I read all her books and have one signed by her. When I look at her website, I wish my future website would look like that. I use her one-sentence-journal for my kids and kind of jealous that she launched a habit journal called (Don't Break the Chain). That's how alike our interests are! This time I am talking about Gretchen Rubin, who is releasing a new book called (Life in Five Senses: How Exploring the Senses Got Me Out of My Head and Into the World) on April 18th as well and will be instantly delivered to my Kindle. This book's topic, size, and delicious jacket design demand a hardcover copy, which I will gift myself later.

5. 💬 A quote I needed and you might too:

“You’re looking for the explanation, the loophole, the bright twist in the dark tale that reverses your story’s course. But it won’t reverse—for me or for you or for anyone who has ever been wronged, which is everyone. Allow your acceptance of the universality of suffering to be a transformative experience. You do that by simply looking at what pains you squarely in the face and then moving on. You don’t have to move fast or far. You can go just an inch. You can mark your progress breath by breath.”

Some cool resources I personally use, love and recommend, with discounts just for you:

  1. I like to start the day with my personalized Momentum Plus tab, which helps me stay focused with a powerful mantra, an inspiring image, a to-do list, countdowns to big dates, and world clocks where I keep an eye on time zones of friends and family living abroad before contacting them. Being a newsletter friend, you would get a special offer of a 10% discount when you subscribe to Momentum Plus with the promo code: bardees.
  2. Enjoy a free month of the Readwise app, it is the BEST way to retain the knowledge you gain through reading. Using spaced repetition, it helps you remember your highlights from kindle books/articles you read. I am in love with their new reader feature. Reading online has become a top-notch experience thanks to Reader. Get one month free using my link.
  3. I have been using Exist App for years as a digital journaling tool to track my mood in relation to my productivity and health choices. Try it out.
  4. I use Rescuetime to track my digital productivity. Rescuetime tells me how much I spend on email, Excel sheets, meetings, and nonwork activities. I have been a happy client since 2014.
