Motivation and willpower are short-term solutions that wax and wane (at least, for me) more frequently than I am willing to publicly admit. Especially recently, I have moments of intense excitement and dedication, and others where I literally have to talk myself out of bed or into a workout. Something I keep reminding myself though, is that neither one of these experiences is necessarily better or worse than the other. In fact, it doesn't matter at all, as long as the result is the same. For each of us, we have to do what we have to do to get up, get out and get shit done. The better we get at flexing this muscle, especially when motivation is low, the better our lives will be overall. So, excuse my language but f*ck your motivation. No one gets motivated to go on a run sitting on the couch. They get motivated by going on a run and experiencing the high. Final thought: be unmotivated and do it anyways.
