Dear Friends~

Spring is here! I hope you are enjoying the warmer weather.

This month I encourage you to explore one of the Small Business Development Center's (SBDC) one day conferences for small businesses. The Southwest Colorado SBDC 11th Annual Small Business Conference is on May 3 in Ignacio, and the Central Mountain SBDC Power of WE (Women Entrepreneurs) Conference is on May 19 in Salida. Both are great opportunities to learn, network and grow your business.

Also this month, in honor of Mother's Day, I would like to introduce you to Laura Cordova, mother, grandmother (wonderwoman!) and owner of two small businesses in La Jara, CO. If you need a gift for mom, both businesses offer a variety of yummy and relaxing products and services.
We are continuing to accept applications for our Climber Loan Fund! Please read the description below to find out if you are eligible to apply.

You may have read about Cactus Hill Farm in our recently released Impact Report, but if not, we have a brief highlight on this wonderful small business in the section below.

Finally, two of our partner organizations, Rocky Mountain Microfinance Institute (RMMFI) and Compañeros, are looking for talented people to join their teams. If you know of anyone who may be interested, please share the information and links.

Please reach out to me at azarelmc@fswcf.org if you have questions about any of our loans, grants or education programs. Thanks for reading and sharing our work.

In gratitude,
-Azarel Madrigal
