We have made it to May! Springtime brings so many wonderful events and experiences to life in our community, and the wine industry especially. We can't wait to share with you!

Sam Parra opened Parra Wine Co. in 2018 and is the true definition of a one man show. From production, to bottling, to social media and deliveries, he does it all! His focus is on varietals that are unique to the Pacific Northwest. The Pinot Noir grapes that he has sourced this season have made their way into a sparkling rosé; keeping true to the true Oregon nature of Pinot Noir while creating something truly unique simultaneously. Tempranillo, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, and a Sparkling Gewurztraminer have also made it into his spring line up.

 

Notes from the winemaker:

 

2019 Cabernet Franc

Warm weather vintage provided full ripeness. Flavors of black cherries, marionberries plus the oak is integrated well in the wine. A finish of brown sugar, cedar, vanilla and coffee. Only 50 cases produced.

 

2022 Sparkling Gewurztraminer

An early pick to this varietal to avoid any sweet flavors. You get pineapple, lemon, kiwi plus stone fruit flavors. Great acidity on the finish to pair well with spicy Thai or Vietnamese noodle dishes. Only 80 cases produced.

 

 

 

Oregon is home to an active and exciting wine culture. Throughout the year, a number of wine related events take place right in our backyard.
