Hi friends,

Are you ready for your new beginning?

Now that Ramadan is over, the Eid holiday is over, and Labor Day weekend is in its last hours, consider this brand new week and month (hello May!) your fresh start. Scientific studies have proven that using fresh starts is effective in achieving goals and establishing long-lasting habits.

How do you do that?

1- Prepare your habits for the new month; what habits do you want to track daily and weekly? (Download May's habit tracker in Spark #1 below)
Examples of daily habits:
  • Journal for 5 minutes in the morning
  • Meditate for 5 minutes.
  • Walk 15-30 minutes after work.
  • Apply a morning and evening skincare routine.
  • Read before bed.
Examples of weekly habits:
  • Do your weekly review every Saturday evening.
  • Connect with a family member.
  • Update the budget sheet.
  • Have a one-one meeting with your boss.
2- Prepare your goals: What do you want to achieve in the new month? What do you want to start this month?

Examples of monthly goals to get you going:
  • Finish watching an online course.
  • Read two books.
  • Plan a birthday party.
  • Put winter clothes away.

3- Book your calendar and set reminders to work on your goals and habits.

When will you walk? When will you create content, launch those episodes, declutter that spot, meet with that friend, plan your budget, and go on a family outing?

If you don't set a time and date to work on your habits and goals, they will not happen. Look at the new month's clean slate and start booking slots for your plans.

Happy fresh start, friends! Make the BEST of it according to your life's season.

Here is your weekly dose of The Sunday Spark ⚡️ a newsletter listing 5 insightful things I thought were worth starting your week with:

2. 🎧 A NEW podcast episode dropped in your favorite podcast app, which was originally an Instagram Live, summarizing the 101 of self-care book: The Art of Extreme Self-Care.

3. 🎭 Find all my content about this book on Instagram, including this funny blooper that happened during the Live.

4. 📷 My friend, the super talented baby photographer and the most experienced photography business coach I know, Nadia Bata, created a gift for new parents: a guide to inspire you and help you take beautiful photos of your baby in their first year. You can grab this guide for free here.

5. 💬 In case you need this reminder:

“You are infinitely worthy. You are infinitely precious. You have always been enough. You will always be enough. There is no place you don’t belong. You are lovable. You are loved. You are love.”

Some cool resources I personally use, love and recommend, with discounts just for you:

  1. I like to start the day with my personalized Momentum Plus tab, which helps me stay focused with a powerful mantra, an inspiring image, a to-do list, countdowns to big dates, and world clocks where I keep an eye on time zones of friends and family living abroad before contacting them. Being a newsletter friend, you would get a special offer of a 10% discount when you subscribe to Momentum Plus with the promo code: bardees.
  2. Enjoy a free month of the Readwise app, it is the BEST way to retain the knowledge you gain through reading. Using spaced repetition, it helps you remember your highlights from kindle books/articles you read. I am in love with their new reader feature. Reading online has become a top-notch experience thanks to Reader. Get one month free using my link.
  3. I have been using Exist App for years as a digital journaling tool to track my mood in relation to my productivity and health choices. Try it out.
  4. I use Rescuetime to track my digital productivity. Rescuetime tells me how much I spend on email, Excel sheets, meetings, and nonwork activities. I have been a happy client since 2014.

Note: some of the links above may be affiliate links, but always keep in mind that I don’t endorse anything I don’t use and love myself.

See you next Sunday First name / my dear friend!
