Art Newsletter
May 2023
Hello friends
Happy May! I have lots of exciting things to share with you! My first update is a group show I will be participating in this month. The opening reception is on May 13th during the Second Saturday Art Walk in Midtown Sacramento at Good News Wine. Yay! Come in for art and stay for a glass of yummy natural wine! If you cannot make it to the opening, that's okay! Head into the wine shop another time! The space itself is a work of art. You'll see!

The second update is the soft launch of my online shop! On Monday, May 15th (the day after Mercury retrograde ends) my shop will be open to my mailing list. That means YOU! I will open my online shop for one week before my planned vacation escape to the desert. I am a busy bee over here, prepping my store and setting up all things shipping on my website. I am so excited to give you VIP access to my latest collection. Original paintings and archival prints will be available to purchase. Please keep an eye on your inbox on May 15th!

Next, I have a solo show in July at Good News Wine. The opening reception is scheduled for July 8th during the Second Saturday Art Walk in Midtown Sacramento at Good News Wine. Stay tuned for more details! I am so excited about this! It is a really big deal. It will be my very first solo show.

Lastly, be sure to mark your calendars - my little blue backyard studio will be open to the public this September 2023! I am participating in Sacramento Open Studios this fall. My backyard will be open during Weekend 2: Saturday, Sept. 16th and Sunday, Sept. 17th from 11 am-5 pm. Again, stay tuned for my address and all the details! Eeeee! I cannot WAIT to host everyone.

MEDITATION + KUNDALINI + SPIRIT
I meditate every morning. I utilize the Insight Timer app to help me set my intention for the day ahead. They even have a timer with a variety of different meditation chimes to choose from. There is a meditation for almost everything on there - from pet loss to starting your own business! Check it out: https://insighttimer.com/

Teachers and mentors I call upon include:
I also enjoy Kundalini yoga to help me regulate and release my emotions. Two lovely teachers I admire:
If all else fails, a walk in the woods or a low-populated trail is where I find spirit and wisdom.

ANIMALIA
Animal siblings and the animal world provide my life with lots of joy and inspiration.
  • My cat Shiva - may her kitty spirit continue to experience joy. Shiva came into my life when I was 20 and I had her for 15 years - almost my entire adulthood. She was the sweetest friend and best emotional regulator. Without her, I could not have gotten through college, heartbreaks, and teaching. Whenever people ask me what my favorite animal is, I say Shiva.
  • River otters
  • Foxes
  • Elephants
  • Blue Whales
  • Goats

COMMUNITY
Last, but not least! I care DEEPLY about my people and my local orgs/circles. Community is my favorite!

As always,
thank YOU for being part of my creative community
With gratitude,
Jen
