A gunman opened fire at an outdoor mall in Allen, Texas Saturday, killing eight people and injuring seven others. According to an FBI bulletin, the suspect's social media accounts included numerous posts containing hateful rants targeting Jews, women, and racial minorities, as well as a series of shirtless photos with tattoos associated with white power, including SS lightning bolts on his arm and a swastika on his chest.
The suspect also wore a tactical vest during the massacre with a patch bearing the acronym "RWDS," which stands for "Right Wing Death Squad." This phrase originated in the 1970s to describe paramilitary units in South America and has gained popularity among right-wing extremist groups during the 2010s. Members of the Proud Boys, in particular, are known to prominently display "RWDS" patches.
Some individuals on social media have disputed the notion of a white supremacy motive due to the suspect's non-white ethnicity. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) argued that a person of Latino descent cannot be a white supremacist. This line of reasoning has been prominent on right-wing platforms such as Gab and 4-Chan, while users on other platforms such as Twitter and Reddit have pushed back, citing the initial findings of the FBI.

The "ReAwaken America" conference this weekend in Miami has garnered significant attention because former President Donald Trump’s son Eric is scheduled to appear alongside known antisemites, including Scott McKay, who accused the Jews of orchestrating 9/11 and countless presidential assassinations, and Charlie Ward, who praised Hitler for “warning us” about Judaism.
Conversation around this event was triggered by MSNBC anchor Rachel Maddow pointing out that Trump's son was set to appear alongside these problematic speakers. Eric Trump defended himself by emphasizing his family's "pro-Israel" stance and highlighting that his brother-in-law, Jared Kushner, an Orthodox Jew, officiated his wedding.
Many people commented that Eric Trump did not condemn the antisemitic speakers scheduled to appear at his family's resort.

A Tunisian naval guardsman attacked the El Ghriba synagogue on Tuesday on the island of Djerba, killing four people and injuring 10 others during an annual Jewish pilgrimage to celebrate Lag BaOmer, a holiday commemorating the Bar-Kokhba Revolt against the Romans.
The shooter first killed a fellow guard and took his ammunition before heading to the synagogue and opening fire indiscriminately. Among the victims were a 42-year-old French-Tunisian Jew and a 30-year-old Tunisian-Israeli Jew who were attending the pilgrimage.
U.S. Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism Deborah Lipstadt, who attended the pilgrimage the day before the attack, said on Twitter that she was “sickened and heartbroken by the lethal, antisemitic attack”.
