Here's some words on a NEW special Venus sessions offering this week, our sweet canine companion Vesper's health, and retrograde changes in plans (all related). |

Venus enters Leo in just a couple weeks, right after hitting her point of Greatest Elongation (when she is highest in the sky as the Sun sets), the moment which marks the beginning of our descent into her summertime retrograde. I’ve begun releasing new Venus cycle writing and research to help us situate, sink, and dig into this potent solar time with as deep of soul and robust of heart as we can access. I’ve been playing with the idea of offering a special round of Venus retrograde in Leo 1:1 sessions for you, but with the IC book still making its way, had planned to postpone them. But plans change, especially during Mercury retrogrades, so it is with bittersweetness that I write to you today about just such a round of special Venus sessions available for booking this week (and only this week) in support of our darling canine companion. If you’ve seen my socials, you’d probably met Vesper, the adorable pup who has become essential to my heart. |

Vesper was captured as a stray by a high-kill animal control shelter in rural Arkansas. She was heartworm positive, as many rescue dogs are in the South, and underwent the long, harsh heartworm treatment sponsored through the rescue group connected with the shelter (bless them). They collaborated with an animal rescue group in the north to get her on a transport to MA after she tested negative. She arrived in February, spent a couple weeks in a lovely foster home where she got to relax a bit, and then she found us. In less than three months, we’ve watched her blossom from a tiny and timid ball of wariness and dissociation to the sweetest smartest shiniest goofball of muscle and presence. She’s learned to play fetch—she much prefers a frisbee to a ball. She’s learned that toys and bones can be hers and no one else’s. She’s learned that when she hides something somewhere she can be reliably confident it’ll be there when she goes back for it (unless it’s under my pillow—which truthfully she’s only tried once). She has four kinds of growls (including one for when she’s taking up too much of the bed and doesn’t want to move) and two kinds of barks, one for warning off and one for warning us. She doesn’t like when we carry large objects and is skeptical of the rain and tall strangers, but honestly, relatable. She’d rather be snuffling in deep snow or lazing in the sunshine, but if neither are available, as is proper for a 40lb lap dog, she will want to be in your lap, no matter what you’re doing otherwise. Vesper is tender and intelligent, willful and attentive, gorgeous and cuddly, quiet and nervous, bratty and playful. She’s also heartworm positive, again. |

Whether it’s a resurgence of her previous infection or, more likely, a new infection she got despite preventatives before coming up north (it takes 6-7 months to be detectable), the reality is that she must undergo the long, harsh heartworm treatment again. The good news is that I work from home, mainly finishing the IC book with Rain’s support. I also have some experience tending to dogs with special health needs. Vesper is young, happy, and strong so her prognosis is good and we are in with a good vet clinic despite the shortage in MA. The bad news is that the treatment, on top of being long, harsh, and dangerous, is very expensive here. She also has had other health issues come up that make her care more time-consuming, impacting my ability to return to work, as well. I recently got my green card and full work authorization, so I am pleased to be able to bring an offering to you in direct support of Vesper’s heartworm treatment costs. |

I am offering a special round of 1:1 sessions, May 21-24th, devotedly devoted to the upcoming Venus retrograde in Leo. For the coming season, we are on a heart-finding, heart-healing, heart-tending mission. In these sessions focused on our upcoming Venus retrograde in Leo, we offer acknowledgment, welcome, and care for the parts of yourself that surrender to underworld journeys without trust that you will be provided for to get through to the other side. In our time together, we’ll examine the place of this Venus retrograde in Leo in your chart as if it were a hidden altar: where to look for it, what you bring to it, what is on offer for you to receive, and what is yours to leave behind. All sessions are 50 minutes, $180 USD, recorded, between Sunday May 21st and Wednesday 24th. You’ll go home with a preview excerpt of my forthcoming Where Is Your Heart: Venus Retrograde in Leo Workbook to continue your own personal and historical research of previous retrogrades and the broader Venus cycles related to the retrograde. You'll also receive a discount code for the final workbook release, which will contain new research and writing on how to witness your personal Venus cycles in the context of our collective cycles. I’ll post the booking link for these sessions to my small cohort of Patrons on Wednesday, May 17th at 3:30pm ET. 24 hours later, on Thursday, May 18th at 3:30pm ET, the mailing list will receive access. If you’re not into receiving a session, but you want to support Vesper, you can venmo 500livesasafox . Thank you for being here. Take care, Pallas P.S. You can manage your preferences in the link below or by visiting the Mailing list page to specify whether you'd like to receive“Writing & Books”, updates on my “Session Availability” (like this one), and/or news of my “Speaking & Teaching” engagements. Every once in a while, you'll get a call for community support, if you're on any of the lists. |
