This weekend was a whirlwind in the Windy City! I left Thursday for Chicago and after some not-so-fun travel adventures (at least the hotel wasn't closed!), my sister-in-law and I made it to our hotel late Thursday night! 
This was our first time attending Wild & Windy and we had a blast! Sleeping in (y'all, it's been MONTHS since I did that), sampling deep dish pizza, and meeting authors like Claire Kingsley (she is the sweetest!) and Karla Sorenson (also SO SWEET) to seeing author buds like Tia Louise and Willow Winters again! 
Since yesterday was Mother's Day, we decided to grab a flight home Saturday afternoon and, luckily, no crazy travel shenanigans on the way home.
I did get to enjoy Mother's Day with the Twinx and had my coffee made for me by the time I got downstairs—yay!

I am so proud of myself! Not only do I finally have Soldier for the Starling off to the editors but I started a new book! This will be a 10K novella to be included in an anthology later this year and features a whole new cast of characters set in the small town of Aspen Falls, Colorado. 
I'm already halfway done and am dying to get more into this small town and it's quirky cast of characters who are all demanding their own story!

In other book news I have some BIG, BIG surprises coming for the Heart Beats series as we get closer to the second book birthday for Charlie and Jax. Any guesses on what's coming?
