There's no denying the overwhelming chaos and disarray that permeates our world today; it's a reality we confront daily through news sources and in conversation with family, friends, and neighbors. From the harrowing tales of an impending climate catastrophe to the unsettling alliance forged between Big Food and Big Pharma, and the distressing assault on the well-being of our future generation, the barrage of alarming headlines seems never-ending.

One of the missions here at Amber Oaks Ranch is to partner with other farmers, ranchers, educators, and grass-roots lobbyists to afford hope to those feeling overcome by the tidal wave looming on the horizon. We are proud to be counted among those holding the line (you included) against the assault on our liberties.

We have had the great fortune to be featured on podcasts, teaming up with activists in the food and freedom movement, and to be supported by our customers as they vote with their dollars to build a better future for both ourselves and our progeny.

We are proud to partner with The Live Free Academy for the second year by participating in the Exit and Build Land Summit.  This three-day event took place in Bastrop, Texas over the past weekend and attracted hundreds of like-minded individuals both in-person and online. The summit covered various topics, including land selection, food production and storage, alternative building materials, eco-villages (cooperative communities), private membership associations, income-generating ideas, and homeschooling, just to name a few.
In addition to attending the conference, participants had the opportunity to join multiple farm tours before and after the event. We hosted farm tours at Amber Oaks Ranch on both Thursday and Monday, where we showcased our livestock raising practices. In addition to an overview of cows, sheep, and pigs – on pasture, we did an in-depth discussion of raising chickens for meat and eggs.  We delved into the intricacies of raising chickens for both meat and eggs, covering everything from receiving day-old chicks to processing the finished birds.

John also had the privilege of participating in a Food Production panel alongside other local producers. We addressed participants' questions about raising bees, growing fruits and nuts, cultivating vegetables, and, of course, livestock farming. Furthermore, John led a breakout session, where he explored various methods of building income streams from homesteading.
The participants came from diverse backgrounds, representing different walks of life and spanning all age groups. Witnessing so many individuals awaken to the realization that the current systems are flawed and taking action to Exit and Build their own future was truly inspiring.
